Our Mission:
Help millions of young adults/children cope psychologically, emotionally and physically who live with or have lost their mother to HIV/AIDS. Act as a resource for the whole family through mentoring, leadership development, youth development, financial support, and scholarships. Somwa's goal is to assure the mother that her child/children are supported by the community and less vulnerable to becoming AIDS orphans. Somwa is a registered 501(c)3 charity in the US.
Giving Back in Africa
The Kajiado Childrens Home in Africa (Kenya).
In 2010 Shacazia L. Brown traveled to The Kajiado Childrens Home in Africa (Kenya) southwest of Nairobi. She was able to volunteer and give back to 80 children who have lost their mother to AIDS. She lived with them for two weeks and was able to sponsor 3 children ages 5, 6 and 14. SOMWA Kenya is in the developing stages and will build a primary school in 2011.Make a Donation
